Greek National Holiday 2024, the debriefing
My TV, radio, newspaper and online media interviews
[This post is mostly for people who understand Greek. But see at the bottom of this message for some news.]
Time for a little shameless self-promotion.
Last week was crazy because of the national holiday on March 25th. I gave numerous interviews, almost everywhere (TV, radio, newspapers, online news). I have tried to organize them for you, but DO NOT try to watch, listen, or read everything. It was a tsunami of publicity; I don’t know how I did it. But it was also very gratifying and, I must admit, I felt proud.
The big break was my appearance on Nicky Lyberaki’s popular TV show as the main guest. The work of the team was outstanding, the ratings high, the exposure tremendous. If you have time for one thing, watch this, it’s extraordinary TV work.
Even before this week, my book The Noblest Cause: The Greek War of Independence had (again) reached first place in sales, 2.5 years after the publication of the Greek translation at the end of 2021. It is still first, among 15,377 history books (!), in Skroutz.gr, i.e. the Greek Amazon, the website with the most daily visits in the history of the Greek web.
Nicky Lyberaki is also the one who narrates the new audio book version of my book (with the quotes read by the actor Tassos Sotirakis). If you wish to buy the book, do not forget to visit this page if you want to find the cheapest price.
Another important thing I did was my op-ed for the largest Greek newspaper, Kathimerini. I wrote it together with my friend and colleague, the Harvard-educated historian, Şükrü Ilıcak. We published two unknown documents about the siege of Missolonghi and the heroic Exodus (April 1826). These are breathtaking narratives, do not miss them.

Keep going with your great work!
