Last week I gave a lecture at St. Catherine’s British School in Athens. I was invited by Athina Nassioula, the head of Modern Greek at the school, at the suggestion of George Morianopoulos, one of my dear former students. I spoke to the students of the 11th grade (the equivalent of Proti Lykeiou), most of them British and Greek, but also of many other nationalities. I really enjoyed the opportunity to present my research on the Greek Revolution to such a young audience and to discuss with them some of the issues I have covered. Some of these young people may be working with me in my lab this summer. Tomorrow morning I will give two lectures in Nafplion, again to high school students, and I have already spoken to the high school of Ligourio (near ancient Epidaurus).
I attach some of the slides. Unfortunately Substack can only allow me to upload a small number of pictures from my presentation. However, paid subscribers will get the full file (49 slides) in PDF.
Stay tuned for more to come!
